Making birthday cards or any kind of holiday card is a snap. You can use some of the techniques below to make your own birthday card or you can simply upload a photo or picture and use this online service to make birthday cards (and t-shirts, cups, and all kinds of stuff) for you. You can even make them available for sale to the world!

You could make a birthday card (or any kind of card) just like these:

Handmade Birthday Card Techniques

Have you always been interested in learning more about making birthday cards? If so, then you have come to the right place as I will be more than happy to assist you with this!

Making handcrafted birthday cards is not only a lot of fun, but your card recipients are sure to appreciate the time and thoughtfulness that went into creating their card.

There are a wide variety of techniques that one can utilize when it comes to making birthday cards. A few are outlined here:

Stamping

Stamping is often done by using various rubber stamps, and this tends to be one of the easier card making techniques. Your local craft store is bound to have quite a few different rubber stamps to choose from, or rubber stamps can also easily be purchased online.

Be sure to apply on light pressure from the ink pad on to the rubber stamp, as this will help you to avoid over saturating the rubber stamp with ink so that you don't end up with a big mess.

Distressing

Distressing is another great technique to utilize when creating handcrafted cards. Do you know anyone that loves the vintage look? If so, then they would be sure to enjoy being the recipient of a birthday card that has been distressed, as using the distressing technique gives cards a wonderful vintage appearance!

Creating distressed pieces is actually easier than you might think and only requires a few items. As a matter of fact, all you really need to make your own gorgeous distressed work of art is paper, distressed ink and a piece of cotton wool. To begin "distressing" lightly dab the cotton wool into the ink right around the edges of whatever piece you are working on. To further enhance your projects vintage look, you should then lightly crumple it up.

Using Eyelets

The use of eyelets is another card making technique that you may want to experiment with. Creating eyelets is fairly easy, and the results are often quite impressive.

If you want to give creating cards with eyelets a try, then I would highly recommend the use of a silent setter. The reason for this is that the use of silent setters makes it much easier to be able to set your eyelets into your cards.

In order to ensure that the eyelet is definitely in place in your handcrafted card, you will want to be sure to apply firm pressure with the silent setter.

Making birthday cards is a great way to express your creativity, and it is a hobby that you could easily enjoy for many more years to come.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article, and I hope that you find the card making techniques that I mentioned to be helpful.
